Attended the Findlay High School garage sale after work. It was slow going at first but in the end turned out to be a Christmas in July bonanza! I picked up 4 picture frames, Johnny Cash – the Singing Storyteller on 8 track, Count Basie – Just in Time on LP, an incense burner, some incense and kabuki drama coasters all for $3.50.

I’ve become intrigued with gas station “food” lately. I’m talking about the Bob Evans breakfast products at Marathon stations and the crazy stuff served up at Speedway stations. I can only stomach about half of it but it intrigues the hell out of me!

Went to the Tiffin Flea Market where I was able to rescue some negatives from a trash can (dumpster diving rocks!), check out tables of the government is out to get us pamphlets and watch a first hand reenactment of the scene in Ghost World where Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson chat Steve Buscemi up on his record collection at the garage sale.  :-)  Seriously though, I have it on good authority that the record guy’s booth is worth a visit.

Once Cherie and I got back to town, we helped a lost dog find its way home and cleaned out the ears of a stray cat hanging around the neighborhood. I followed this with a walk to Kroger’s to pick up some limes for margaritas.

I’m sure by now you’ve caught the headline that pitchman Billy Mays pasted away Sunday morning.   Folk have pointed to what appears to be Billy’s Twitter last tweet.  The Hufflington Post has a nice collection of videos including his appearance on Conan just days ago.

I caught a few episodes of Billy and Anthony Sullivan’s Pitchmen when it first came out.  It never captivated my attention beyond a handful of episodes but those few provided a good look at the art of a pitchman.   Try to check them out while you still can.

A little over 10 years ago a consultant from Microsoft jokingly described me as a cross between Rosanne Barr and Woody Allen.  You can file that nugget however you’d like.  :-)

Believe it or not you can still find free air at the local Marathon station here in Findlay.  I’m not sure what the going rate is when you do have to pay but this Marathon station in Strasburg, OH charges 75¢.  Don’t have any change? No worries, just charge it to your credit card.
