I can’t wrap my mind around how limousines and funeral coaches start their lives as normal cars that are chopped in half, extended and welded back together.

It’s hard to believe there haven’t been any new pictures added to the cube collection since the middle of January. I’ve not come across any in my travels but that doesn’t mean the collection isn’t growing. One of my coworkers and friends picked me up five at the Springfield Antiques Show. The whole bunch was only $2.00 which is a very good deal!

Crazy Snails
It’s amazing what you can pick up for a quarter. I picked up 1979 copy of Pot what it is, what it does at the New Martinsville Public Library‘s book sale last weekend. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a collectors edition and there is no real value beyond the crazy artwork and story within. Stoned snails unite!
Mystery Hello
Cherie and I discovered a Sharpie hello graffiti on our front steps yesterday. I’ll take the hello over the fuck you that appeared on a neighbor’s garage about the same time. I have no idea if the same person did it but the timing is suspect.
The entire episode reminds me of Jason Scott‘s 2003 keynote at Rubi-Con 5 in Detroit.

Plans, Trains and Cargo Ships
Just stumbled across an article that talks about leisure travel on cargo ships. Who knew?
I also recently discovered a train version of Airliners.net called RailPictures.net. Both sites have the pictures categorized and a detailed search engine available which makes it easy to kill substantial chunks of time poking around.
There will be no Juking at Prom!
I caught an article this morning about a student at the local Christian school who is getting resistance for wanting to attend prom at the public Findlay High School. The religious school has a code of conduct which notes the guy could be suspended for attending prom because of the rock music and dancing. If he is involved in sex or booze then he’ll get expelled. Seriously? The fact that we’re even talking about this makes my blood boil.
The news has been picked up by AP. Plus it has hit Reddit and Fark so it won’t be long before it’s fodder for late night. Two of the Toledo stations were even talking on their evening news about how the story is the most commented on their websites today.
I realize there are codes of conduct and signatures but when will folks learn you can’t force morality through silly rules? Influence where you can, but don’t control, then get the hell out of the way! Religion can be dangerous sometimes.
To make light of the situation, I’m breaking out the only animated .GIF I’ve ever created. It was created sometime around the 1996 ~ 1997 time frame back when I was in college, had spiky hair and couldn’t dance. As if I can dance now.
Enjoy your weekend folks. And Tyler Frost, enjoy your senior prom!

Caught this nugget while looking over IdeaFestival‘s tweets.
What could Bert Holldobler, Julian Beever and Anthony Bourdain possibly have in common?
I’m not very good with riddles but I’d wager this is the beginning of their ’09 speaker lineup. :-)
Speaking of riddles. We were out in the country this afternoon and came across a field with little cairns scattered about. I’ve seen these on hiking trails but never in an open field. Odd.
